Welcome to Generational Letters. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Generational Letters (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Generational Letters allows you to record audio stories, have them transcribed and edited into letter format, and have those letters physically printed and mailed to recipients you designate. We provide the technology, hosting, and mail fulfillment; we do not guarantee delivery outcomes of third-party carriers.
3. Physical Mail Delivery — Carrier Non-Liability
We use third-party postal and courier services to deliver physical letters. We are not responsible for delays, loss, damage, or non-delivery caused by carriers, including but not limited to the United States Postal Service or any other shipping provider. Once a letter has been handed to the carrier, risk of loss and delivery timing are outside our control. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to select reliable carriers but do not guarantee delivery dates or successful delivery. Refunds or re-sends for carrier-related issues may be offered at our sole discretion.
4. Packages and Payment
Packages are billed on a recurring schedule via Stripe (for example, annual renewal). You authorize us to charge your chosen payment method according to your plan. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access.
5. Cancellation — Pro-Rated vs. End-of-Cycle
You may cancel your package at any time using the Cancel package link in your dashboard footer (Stripe Customer Portal), from your account where available, or by contacting us.
- End-of-cycle cancellation (default): If you cancel, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. No further charges will be made. No refund is issued for the unused portion of the current period.
- Pro-rated refunds: Pro-rated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period are not standard. We may, at our discretion, offer a pro-rated refund in exceptional circumstances (e.g., service failure on our part). Any such refund does not create an obligation to offer pro-rated refunds in the future.
- Annual packages: If you are on an annual plan, we do not prorate or refund unused months when you cancel. You keep access through the end of the annual term you already paid for; no partial refund is owed for the remainder of that term.
After cancellation, your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy (e.g., vault access until the end of any retention period you have agreed to).
6. Content Ownership and License
You own your content. You retain all rights to the stories, audio, and any text you provide (“Your Content”). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
By using the Service, you grant Generational Letters a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, transcribe, edit, format, print, and transmit Your Content solely to (1) operate and provide the Service, (2) generate and mail the letters you request, and (3) maintain your Digital Vault as described in our Privacy Policy. We will not use Your Content to train third-party AI models or for marketing unrelated to delivering your letters. You may revoke this license by deleting your content and account, subject to retention required by law or our stated policy.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes, or to harass recipients. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is.” We disclaim warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, except where prohibited by law.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the Service. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
